Supreme Court’s order on pollution – Stop burning stubble, otherwise our bulldozer will not stop if it runs.

New Delhi, 7 November (PTI): Amid rising pollution levels in Delhi and the National Capital Region, the Supreme Court on Tuesday directed Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan to “ensure immediate ban” on stubble burning. Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul Said, “I regret, this is a complete murder of people’s health. Apart from this, I have no words.” During this, Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul gave strict orders to the governments of Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan to stop stubble burning immediately. Our patience is running out in view of pollution so if we take action our bulldozer will not stop.

The bench said that there cannot always be a political fight. The court said that the residents of Delhi are suffering from health problems year after year because the solution to the problem has not been found. The bench said, “We are pleased with the government of Punjab and Haryana, Rajasthan, And direct Uttar Pradesh to ensure that the incidents of stubble burning stop immediately.” The bench gave the responsibility of stopping stubble burning to the concerned police station in-charge under the overall supervision of the Chief Secretary.

The advocate appearing for Punjab claimed that there has been a 40 percent reduction in the incidents of stubble burning as compared to last year. On this the bench told the advocate, we want to stop this transaction. We don’t care how you do it. It’s your job to figure out how to do it.

The odd-even scheme Delhi called a sham

The Supreme Court has made a big comment regarding odd-even. The apex court has termed the odd-even scheme as a sham. Justice Sanjay Kishana Kaul said- You have already brought the odd-even system, has it been successful, all this is just for show.

29,641 stubble burning cases in two and a half months

Through satellite 2,914 cases of stubble burning were detected on Nov 6. Of these, 2,060 in Punjab, 2,060 in Haryana 65 in India, 87 in Uttar Pradesh, 0 in Delhi, 0 in Rajasthan 47 incidents were reported in Uttar Pradesh, and 655 in Madhya Pradesh Came. In this way, between 15 September and 6 November, The total number of cases reached 29,641.
