Auto sector picks up pace, sales of companies increase

New Delhi, November 1 (P.S.): The country’s auto sector gained momentum in the month of October and there was a huge increase in the sales of companies. 71 Sales of the country’s largest car company Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) increased by 19 percent year-on-year to 1,99,217 units in October. This is the highest monthly sales figure of the company. In October
2022, the company made 1,67,520  Vehicles were sold. The company said that its sales in the domestic market in October
stood at 1,77,266 units, which is its best performance to date. The company’s passenger vehicle sales in the domestic market increased to 1,68,047 units. Sales of the company’s mini cars and S-Presso declined to 14,568 units during the month.

In the compact segment, the company’s sales of Baleno, Celerio, Dezire, Ignis, Swift, Tour S, and WagonR increased
to 80,662 units from 73,685 units. The company’s sales in the utility vehicle segment increased by 91 percent to 59,147 units.
This segment includes Brezza, Grand Vitara, Ertiga, and XL6 models. The company’s exports increased to 21,951 units in October 2023 MG Motor India’s retail sales were up 17 percent year-on-year Increasing to 5,108 units.

Bajaj Auto’s sales increased by 19 percent year-on-year to 4,71,188 units. Mahindra & Mahindra Wh a (M&M) Limited’s total vehicle sales increased by 32 percent year-on-year to 80,679 units. This is the highest sale in a month. Total wholesales of Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) increased by 66 percent to 21,879 units. Hyundai Motor India sold 68,728 units And Net sales of the country’s leading automobile company Tata Motors increased by 5.89 percent to 82,954 units. The company’s total domestic sales stood at 80,825 units. Tata Motors said that domestic sales in the passenger vehicle (including electric vehicles) segment in October increased by 7 percent year-on-year to 48,337 units. Total sales of V.E. Commercial Vehicles Ltd, a unit of Eicher Motors Ltd, increased by 24 percent to 7,486 units. Eicher Motors said that the joint venture between Volvo Group and Eicher Motors V.E. Commercial Vehicles (VECV) last 6,038 vehicles were sold this year. 100 Two-wheeler company Hero MotoCorp’s sales increased by 26.5 percent to 5,74,930 units. Its motorcycle sales increased by 26.2 percent to 5,29,341 units. Scooter sales increased by 30.2 percent to 45,589 units. TVS Total sales of E Motor Company increased by 21 percent.
