Market valuation of BSE listed companies at record high of Rs 346.47 lakh crore

Business Desk: The market valuation (market cap) of BSE listed companies collectively reached an all-time high of Rs 346.47 lakh crore on Tuesday. Sensex and Nifty reached new highs on Tuesday amid continuous capital inflows from foreign institutional investors. After the sharp rise in the market, investors’ capital increased by Rs 2.99 lakh crore. Analysts said foreign institutional investors have reversed their selling strategy and have remained consistent buyers for the last seven days. This stance reflects their confidence in the Indian market.

BSE’s 30-share Sensex jumped 431.02 points to close at a new record level of 69,296.14. At the same time, Nifty also rose by 168.50 points to reach its all-time high of 20,855.30. Due to this, the market capitalization of BSE listed companies increased by Rs 2.99 lakh crore to Rs 346.47 lakh crore at the end of Tuesday’s trading session, which was Rs 343.48 lakh crore on Monday.

Among Sensex companies, Power Grid gained 4.46 per cent, NTPC 3.89 per cent, SBI 2.31 per cent and ICICI Bank 2.28 per cent. Other companies in profit include Mahindra & Mahindra, Titan and Maruti. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 20 were in profit while 32 out of 50 Nifty stocks were in profit. According to stock market data, foreign institutional investors bought shares worth Rs 2,073.21 crore on Monday. Investors’ wealth has increased by Rs 17.75 lakh crore in six trading sessions.
