New Delhi: There is a holiday in the Indian stock market for 3 consecutive days this week. Apart from the weekly holiday on Saturday and Sunday, Indian stock markets will also remain closed on Monday (27 November). There will be no trading in the equity segment, equity derivatives, and SLB segment on both exchanges on Monday. The currency derivatives market will also remain closed for the whole day on Monday. There will be no trading in the currency derivatives segment and interest rate derivatives segment on this day.
Indian stock markets will remain closed on 27th November on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti. Guru Nanak Jayanti, also known as Guruparab, is the most important festival of Sikhism. This festival is celebrated on the occasion of the birthday of the first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak Dev.
Commodity market will also remain closed
Apart from the equity market, commodity markets will also remain closed on this day. There will be no morning session trading on the Multi-Commodity Exchange (MCX) on November 27. There will be trading on MCX in the evening session on this day, whereas on the National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX), there will be no trading in both sessions. The morning session runs from 9 AM to 5 PM, whereas, the evening session runs from 5 PM to 11:30 PM or 11:55 PM.
27th November is the second day of this month when Indian stock markets will remain closed. After this, apart from the weekly holiday, Indian stock markets will remain closed for one additional day in the next month. Indian stock markets will remain closed next month on 25th December on the occasion of Christmas. Earlier in November, on the 14th of November, Indian stock markets were closed on the occasion of Diwali Balipratipada. BSE and NSE will remain closed for a total of 10 days in the month of November. These 10 days include weekly holidays and holidays on festival occasions.
