The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) wants to retain Rahul Dravid as the coach of Team India. The board can offer Dravid a two-year extension. Dravid’s tenure ended with the World Cup final and the board had not given him any new offer till then.
Team India will tour South Africa for three T20, three ODI, and two Test matches between 10 December 2023 and 7 January 2024. The board wants Dravid to be India’s coach on this tour.
According to the report, travel documents have been prepared for Dravid as well as all the members of his support staff for the South Africa tour. Visa has also been prepared for VVS Laxman’s coaching team. If Dravid is not ready, then in this situation Laxman and his coaching team will be sent to South Africa.

The source said, the contract will be worked out but for now the South Africa tour is important. He further said, that if Dravid does not go for the T-20 series on the South Africa tour, he can still join the ODI team.
